With profoundly sadness and sorrow Prof. Dr.
Abdul- Mutalib H. Al – Marsoumi passed away
this morning December 26, 2010. Our sympathy and
condolence goes out to all of his family, friends and
colleagues.
Prof. Dr. Abdul- Mutalib (1955-2010) was one of the
founders of Earth Sciences Department at University of
Basrah. He was also one of founders and supporters of
the site of Geology of Mesopotamia. He was a senior
geologist (1990), Iraqi geological survey company,
Professional Field Geologist, Geochemistry’s and
Professor since 2001.
Prof. Dr. Abdul- Mutalib supervised more than 25 Master
and PhD theses and achieved more than 30 scientific
papers.
Prof. Dr. Abdul- Mutalib was well- loved in his
community for his charitable and good work, and he will
be remembered by all of us.
