Abstract

The microbiostratigraphy of Mauddud Formation studied using thin sections of core and rock cutting samples collected from seven selected wells. These bio-microfacial studies used as a tool to differentiate the faunal and floral assemblages that include the Lamellibranchiate, Bryozoans, and Gastropods ... etc., in addition to large number of previously described algal and foraminiferal subspecies, species and genera in this formation and this part of the world.

However, some of algae and foraminifera identified for the first time from this unit. Generally, the Mauddud Formation deposited under lagoonal, shoal and deep-water environment, where both thickness and its microfacial units increase toward Abu Ghirab.
